Bursaries

Applications  for Canterbury bursaries  will open soon:   deadline June 7, 2024
South End agreed to match the 2 Canterbury bursaries this year. There will be 4 CASE bursaries available.
Details will be sent the the graduation players after our next CASE board meeting.

Canterbury Minor Hockey has two different bursaries available. You can apply for both with the same application form.  Eligible players must submit all documentation by June 7, 2024, at 11:59 pm.

  • Humboldt bursary: 1 bursary ($500) in honour of the Humboldt Junior “A” Broncos hockey team will be awarded to a player who best exemplifies team and community spirit.  
  • CHA Bursary:  1 Canterbury Hockey bursary ($500) will be awarded to a player with demonstrated commitment to academic achievement and leadership.  
In order to be eligible for the bursary, the player must meet the following criteria:
  • Player in good standing with Canterbury Minor Hockey Association
  • Played for the CHA for the last 2 full seasons
  • Be in good academic standing  
  • Have been accepted to an eligible post-secondary institution within the same calendar year
  • No suspensions within the last 2 seasons
  • Demonstrated sportsmanship
  • Demonstrated leadership
